Repurchasing

I avoid shopping as much as I can. But I still shop and consume. I buy food. I replace the items that I run out of. This time I repurchased some personal care items: a multi-purpose balm and soap. My personal care is minimal and mostly zero-waste. I use a bar of soap for my body, hands, and face. I use shampoo, multi-purpose balm, toothpaste, and toothbrush. I share all these items, apart from the toothbrush, with my partner. I used to have a natural and zero-waste conditioner bar, but I decided not to repurchase it because I could easily live without it. When I feel that my hair gets dry (e.g., due to sun exposure or swimming in the sea), I simply stop using shampoo for a while and wash my hair with water only. Recently I ran out of a lip balm that was packaged in paper. I bought it a while ago in Sweden, but I didn't use it every day. The multi-purpose balm works as a lip balm too.

It feels so freeing to use so few personal care items. To see advertising for various "beauty" products and to feel no desire to invite those products into my life. Using minimal, simple, natural products works best for me. I'm not feeling anxious about what I return to Nature when I take care of my body. Using minimal, simple, and natural products also allows me to live safely with my autoimmune skin condition.
