Celebrating my birthday
For my birthday, my fellow human got some Danish cider from a small company. Grape wine, fruit wine and cider production takes place in the Nordics. I've looked into wine production in Sweden and Denmark and I'm fascinated by it. I try to consume local products made by small businesses, but these products are often expensive, so I don't buy them often.
For my birthday, I had a calm day. I didn't want to have a party, so I went to see the sea and listen to it. It was magical to be with the sea, to observe wonderful patterns of shells, stones, and seaweed on the beach.
I didn't want anything for my birthday. My fellow human got two items of clothing for me. They are beautiful and made from organic cotton, but I don't think I will keep them. I don't need more than what I already live with.
I didn't wear anything special or different from what I usually wear. Every day, I wear sweatpants, a basic top, and a linen shirt. Because I went to the sea in winter, I took a hat and hot tea with me. I brought a tote bag with me. My favourite tote bag that I live with is made from linen that was grown in France. The fabric was woven and sewn in Lithuania.
I didn't have a birthday cake, but neither did I want one.
On this day, I revisited the objects I live with and identified some that I will give away to fellow humans.
